The Watts 774/994 and the Ames 2000SS/3000SS/4000SS/5000SS 2 1/2″ – 6″ have checks that are threaded into the body of the backflow device. Over time, the checks can be difficult to remove. There are many different methods used to remove these checks but all are harmful to the device and the checks. The Murray Bullet Tool set will remove the check without damaging the device or the checks. All you need is a 3/8″ drive ratchet and the Bullet Tools and you can get the job done the right way the first time.
